In an effort to create a product to reduce corrosion, a local here in Pennsylvania developed an awesome high tech product.

 NeverWet products are expected to be available to retail customers by mid to late 2012. You can register at www.neverwet.com for first notice of release.

Ross Technology Corp. was looking for a better way to stop or reduce corrosion on the steel products.

When a search did not come up with a product that worked they decided to create one of their own.

What they created was a super slick product which launched a whole new business for them and looks to revolutionize the field of water proof and corrosion technology.

The product that they created, NeverWet, is a silicon based coating in spray form which repels water as well as heavy oils.

“As we started getting it to work, we realized that it solved a whole lot of problems besides just corrosion,” said Andy Jones, who is the President of Ross Nanotechnology corp. which is a subsidiary of Ross Technology Corp. which was formed to develop the NeverWet product.

The product,  NeverWet’s nano-particle spray coating serves to keep things dry, clean, free of bacteria and also ice.

The product was developed to adhere to products made of metal,plastic,clothing,electronics and cookware.

Some interesting applications of NeverWet are that it can make ovens, toilet plungers and also things like bed-pans super easy to clean. It can make packaging resistant  to water and keep white boards free of  ghost images, according to Jones.Another awesome application is in safeguarding electronics.

“I sprayed my iPhone with our NeverWet formulation and submerged it in a foot of water for 35 minutes. When I took it out it still worked perfectly” Jones said.
