Having A Life While Working at Home

If you have a home business you may be like I was and are online constantly doing all kinds of crazy stuff trying to build your business, getting sidetracked by all kinds of crazy ads and gimmicks that you get bombarded with that will supposedly explode your business.

In this quick post I am going to share with you the main secret to building a business while having a life.  A top income earner and mentor of mine gave me this bit of wisdom and it holds very true in every business. What he told me is ” The number 1 thing you have to do in your business is RECRUIT, The number 2 thing you need to do is RECRUIT, Number 3, RECRUIT.  I heard it so much that I sort of ignored it.

What I really didn’t understand was that is all you really need to do. I finally started to get it when I started following Dani Johnson. She taught me that 80 percent of my time whether it be 2 or 4 hours per day needs to be prospecting. Not doing presentations, not doing a million 3 way calls, not taking incoming calls from your team members, not doing all that stuff during prime time business building time.

You need to focus all of your attention on prospecting during that time of day. What this does is that it lowers stress and focuses your attention on what really builds your business and brings in the most amount of money in the shortest period of time and obviously brings in the most people and creates the most duplication because you will teach your team to do the same thing in focusing on what matters. Prospecting!

The true definition of a leader is leading by example and if you lead with the activity that produces the most results, your team will do the same thing and create the highest level of duplication.

Business Op – Why Most People Fail

What is the #1 reason 98% of people fail at a business op? That’s right 97 to 98% of business op owners will give up in 3 months or less. Why is that? One of the main reasons behind this phenomenon is that people just flat out run out of money. The majority of them got in on a wing and a prayer but had next to no advertising budget to get them started.

They have no cash flow and they cancel their auto-ship within 3 months. They simply don’t have enough money coming in through the business to cover monthly fees, tools, and auto-ships let alone having extra to spend on paid marketing.

Think about this… You are in a business op and you have worn out your warm market 3 times over and your friends have stopped answering your calls. You seriously need leads! You look to the internet and after hours and hours of browsing through tons of worthless garbage, you have a breakthrough. You start to understand the concept of having a funded proposal.

A funded proposal is a generic product, system or course which you can market up front to generate the leads and sales to fund and help build your primary business. The cool thing about this is that whether people join your primary business op or not, you are still in a position to profit from those who say no. There is still no guarantee you actually will profit. You now think you have it all figured out although now you are spending money for hosting accounts and auto-responders and membership sites.

It works and now you are generating leads and you actually make a couple of sales from your business op! This is great but then the reality hits that you won’t get the money for another full month!

Just when you thought things were working out you have to wait 4 to 8 weeks to even get a check you can cash. In the meantime you have bills to pay and your membership and auto-responder fees and by the time you get a check you are back to square one!

Sounds like a backwards way to build a business doesn’t it? I totally agree.
