Working from home can be very rewarding, however if you are not careful it can also cause you a lot of trouble. There are so many opportunities available out there that it can be very hard to figure out which opportunities are really worth it and which are not. Stuffing envelopes sounds like it might be a great way to make some extra money. There are a ton of companies that claim that you will make as much as $5 for each envelope you stuff with their materials. They claim you will be provided with postage and the information you will need to stuff these envelopes with. It sounds super easy, Right? The problem is that there is a really big catch. You have to run advertising to get people to send you self addressed stamped envelopes to. They will send you one flyer from the company you are working with, and then you also have to pay to  make copies to  send it to people who reply to the ads you paid for. This is one of the biggest scams  out there and you would be best advised to avoid envelope stuffing opportunities like the plague.

Assembling products from home sounds interesting, however it is definitely not as simple or as glamorous as it is generally made to look. When you sign up for this type of business, you are shipped a box full of materials and instructions. It is then completely up to you to turn the provided materials into finished products following the provided instructions. Though it may sound simple, there is a huge reason this kind of opportunity is considered a scam. The company always reserves the right to reject any of your work for any reason, and of course this means you will not get paid for the ones that they do not approve . So you may complete hundreds and have many of them rejected so you are essentially working for free.

Make huge pay for completing online surveys! Right!  While there are a few legitimate companies offering this, most of them are simply making false promises. They say you’ll get paid high amounts of money for completing surveys, then you learn that a  certain monetary goal must be met before you can cash out your earnings. Most of the time you will receive all kinds of surveys until you get close to the point where you can cash out and then the surveys will suddenly dry up to the point where you will see little or no surveys coming in. This scam uses your data to make money, and gives you nothing in return.

Never invest your money into any business that claims to be able to make you rich over night.

There are no shortcuts in a home business. Just like your regular job, if you don’t work you won’t get paid. There is no easy button. Please do your research carefully to make sure you are working with a legitimate company. Be careful not to get trapped into businesses that are just trying to get people to do work  for them free.  Only sign up for opportunities that have reasonable guidelines and monetary promises.
